Egan’s Arrows

Honorary Captain: Patrick Egan

Patrick Egan, born and raised in Manhattan, was a lifelong sports fan, especially of the New York Rangers, the New York Mets, the Chicago Bears, and the Michigan Wolverines.  As a teenager, he played football for Stuyvesant High School in NYC.  Patrick graduated from Yale University and the University of Michigan Law School.  While at Michigan, Patrick met his beloved wife, Sarah, and in 2015, Patrick and Sarah moved to Pelham with their three children, Conor, Molly and Cormac.

Patrick was a lifelong public servant.  After law school, Patrick was accepted into the Department of Justice Honors Program as a trial attorney.  After two years there, he returned to NYC to serve for six years as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, where he was most proud of the two years he spent prosecuting child abuse cases.  In 2013, Patrick became an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York, ultimately earning an appointment to its Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit, an event he described simply as the "happiest day of my professional life."

Patrick endeared himself to all who passed through his orbit with his astounding intellect, singular wit, uncanny memory, subtle compassion, remarkable work ethic, and unyielding integrity.  Loyal, humble, and naturally self-deprecating, he earned respect and a legion of friends during each new endeavor. His prowess with a clever joke and ability to tell a story are legendary, but his dedication to friends and family is the quality most remembered and missed.

Patrick passed away in January 2019 from angiosarcoma.  The Pelham community provided tremendous support to the Egan family throughout and after Patrick’s illness, and continues to go above and beyond.

Patrick and Sarah’s youngest, Cormac, is a Pelham Mite hockey player.  Patrick would have loved to sit in the stands at the Ice Hutch and cheer on the team and see Cormac put one in the net!!

Go Arrows!!
